STARSkate test stream offers skaters the opportunity to develop
fundamental skating skills in ice
dance, skating skills, freeskate and stroking. Skaters have the opportunity to take STARSkate tests as part
of the nationally standardized system, and participate in competitions organized by Skate
Canada clubs or sections. Skills are taught in a private
or semi-private lesson format. To find a coach for your skater please email email@example.com or phone 519-624-4532.
Once skaters have completed Stage 4 of CanSkate, they can join the Advanced Recreational Figure Skating program. Skaters then move into our pre-preliminary STARSkate program. Please view the registration page to find out which program is right for you.
Skaters who wish to challenge their figure skating skills and who show potential as
competitive skaters can participate in the competitive program. Preston FSC offers
competitive programs in singles, pairs and dance. Skaters who are entering the competitive
stream will be skating a minimum of four times per
week. Each session will include a variety of the following, depending on the individual
skater's goals: general sessions, stroking, conditioning, flexibility, lift class.
Each skater will be assigned to an NCCP certified base coach. This coach is responsible to give the skater the majority of their lessons, but some lessons may be given by other NCCP certified coaches. These lessons are not included in session fees and will be billed separately. Please view the registration page if you would like more information about our competitive program.
